The TNL Team
Bill Cogley, CEO and Founder of Trash No Land.
Began working in 2014 to bring gun owners together for the purpose of helping restore Stewardship in recreational shooting on public land. Since then, he has organized many successful cleanups and has been actively involved in the development of informational and educational programs designed to protect and preserve our public lands for recreational shooting.
I have found simply doing cleanups is not the solution to the problem, but rather, is an end result of a pre-existing and ongoing problem. With greater numbers of gun owners and fewer places to shoot, more people are turning to public land for their shooting recreation. Many of whom are unaware of public land shooting rules. We need to do a variety of things to raise awareness and find solutions to trashed shooting sites on public land.
Tracy Yon Vice President, Secretary and Board of Directors.
Tracy grew up in the Philomath/Corvallis area. She joined the Trash No Land staff in Jan, 2020, however, she has attended multiple cleanup events since 2015.
Growing up, I have always been an outdoors person enjoying hiking, fishing and hunting. Recreational target shooting has always been a part of my life also. I have been married for over 26 years and have 2 grown kids. I have always recreated on Mary’s Peak and other areas so it has always been part of me to keep it cleaned up. I got involved with Trash No Land because it values keeping the forest clean, open and safe for the public to use.
Aaron Piazza, Treasurer and Board of Directors.
Joined our Board of Directors in 2017. He grew up target shooting in the Oregon forests and is committed to keeping them open to recreational shooting for future generations. He feels that while Gun Clubs and private ranges are an important aspect of enjoying the shooting sports, the solitude and natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest make outdoor shooting locales an invaluable addition.
Aaron is licensed as a CPA in Oregon and works for Renewal by Andersen of Oregon. He holds a MAcc from Gonzaga University and a BS from the University of Oregon. Aaron is also a Navy veteran. He lives in Tigard, OR with his wife Andrea and their two children. His interests include, not surprisingly, shooting in the summertime and he serves as the League Commissioner for his Fantasy Football league when the season turns to fall.
Craig Yon, Board of Directors.
From the Albany and Corvallis area, Craig graduated from OSU with degrees in Science Secondary Ed and General Science. Works at Hewlett Packard in Corvallis for just under 26 years as a technician. Main job responsibilities are equipment maintenace and repairs. Married over 25 years and has 2 wonderful children.
I have always been an outdoors person and found myself starting to pick up trash left in the forest because of the amount of closures of local recreation and hunting areas. I still remember my first load of trash that I picked up while hunting. I ran into the local game officer and had to take him back to where I picked it up just to prove that I wasn’t the one dumping it. The concept of someone picking up illegally dumped garbage was a new and novel concept back then. Trash No Land is great because it is trying to educate and get the people not to leave the trash in the first place.
Gary Jacka, Board of Directors.
Gary grew up in Clark county. He was active in Boy Scouts until he graduated high school. That’s where his love of the outdoors was born.
It was also where I first shot a gun. From there I joined the army and toured the world for 5 years fixing Uncle Sam’s trucks. I am married with 3 boys. I enjoy taking them out in the woods, learning to shoot and care for the resources we have.
